March is Multiple Sclerosis Awareness Month

MS is a disease that doesn’t discriminate, it effects people of all nationalities and ethnicities worldwide. It’s unpredictable and often there is no warning when an exacerbation is about to occur. A person can literally go to sleep and be fine, but wake up to discover that their vision has changed, balance has decreased and a number of other things. I developed MS at the age of 17, and within less than a month’s time I became a quadriplegic. I had 27 doses of chemo over a 9 day period. Thankfully, my quadriplegia eventually went away.
